I love doing photography. I took two years of black & white photography in high school and a semester in community college. I use my brother’s Canon EOS Rebel Xs and when I got my first job I bought a Canon EOS Rebel 2000. When places did not develop film anymore I got a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi on my birthday and six months later I got a Nikon D60. After I graduated from San Francisco State University I got a Nikon D5200 and a Nikon D5300 on my birthday. I sold my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi and Nikon D60 to get the Nikon D5200 and Nikon D5300.
What has my photography brought me? I got to meet two musicians at an Off the Grid market. This blog is dedicated to them: Jeremy Hatch and Lily Holbrook.
I met Jeremy Hatch from watching his band Borrowed Trouble performing at Off the Grid in Concord January 2014. Oddly his band has been at the launch of Off the Gird market (McCoppin Hub September 2014, Walnut Creek July 2015, and Concord August 2015). The last time I saw his band perform at an Off the Grid market was in Pittsburg September 2016.
I have follow his solo project not only though Off the Grid but also on Facebook and Instagram. In June 2016 he launch a Kickstarter to raise money to fund his album “Send Me Word When You Get Back”. Within one month it his Kickstarter reach its goal and people were still pledging. I manage to get a copy of Send Me Word When You Get back which has not been release yet. I will say that his album is amazing! It could be a soundtrack to a movie.
The latest photo of him was done this month at Off the Grid in Hayward. It actually the best photo of Jeremy that I have ever taken. He love the photo and I appreciate him sharing it on Facebook and Instagram.
I discover Lily Holbrook at Off the Grid in Serremonte June 2014. I was impress with a beautiful woman wearing sunglasses with a beautiful singing voice.I have known this woman for three years now and each year Lily Holbrook has gotten better each day, weeks, months, and years since I been following her music. She has kept her music alive and has not stop playing ever since. Oddly I will say that I am her personal photographer which I have taken amazing photos of her which have gotten plenty of likes on Facebook and Instagram. She is actually the best person to take a photo of.
I have seen her perform at Off the Grid, 50 Mason Social House, Neck of the Woods, outside in the Castro District, and Stanford Park Hotel. I have driven a far distance to watch her perform and it is worth it. She is an amazing musician.
She is raising the money through Patreon and Kickstarter. I have pledge on both Patreon and Kickstarter which both sites have great rewards from pledging. Her music deserve to continue and I am just doing my best to promote her music on my Facebook page.
